A few weeks ago we told you about the new Rainbow Delights menu, introduced by the Rainbow Tourism Group at some of its top hotels and soon to be rolled out across all of the group’s properties around Zimbabwe.
During the recently ended Sanganai/Hlanganani World Travel Expo Zimbo Jam got to sample the menu and the service that supports it. Two of our journalists visited the Gazebo Lounge in the Rainbow Towers foyer and tried out the delicious-sounding bacon and beef burger.
The recently refurbished foyer is more welcoming now than before and is fitting of a five star establishment.
We were promptly served by a friendly waitress. Our orders came quickly enough and the burgers, at $5 for the single and $6 for the double, were great value for money. To our pleasant surprise, instead of a beef patty and separate rashers of bacon, the patty was a mix of bacon and beef mince. Super yummy!
The chips were slightly on the soggy side though and we had to wait for 15 minutes for our bill, even after using a device on the table that prompted us to press ‘Button I’ to ‘request the bill.’
We were tempted to press ‘Button II’ to ‘Call the manager’ just to see if it worked but our bill arrived before our restless fingers did the deed.
