Tsakatsa wows at Swahili Fashion week, vows to raise Zim fashion standards

Multiple award-winning Zimbabwean designer, Ishmael Tsakatsa, wowed fashionistas from across the world with his awe-inspiring creations at the recently held, Swahili Fashion Week.

Zimbo Jam spoke to him just after he showcased his latest clothing collection, under his label Zargue’sia, at ‘the largest annual fashion event in the whole of East and Central Africa’ and he could not hide his joy.

“I feel very humbled to have been awarded an opportunity to be part of the Swahili Fashion Week, which is the biggest fashion platform in East and Central Africa and also honored to have worked with ‘Group of Creatives’ which is one of the leading fashion show producers in Africa,” Tsakatsa said.

“The experience has taught me to always outdo my past and have the ulterior motive of spreading my wings in pushing the business of fashion and promoting the ‘Made in Zimbabwe’ brand globally.”

“Henceforth, my work will continue to maintain and raise the standards of Zimbabwean fashion with regards to product quality and global relevance,” he added.

Tsakatsa has a number of accolades and award’s under his fashionable belt. These include His awards include, Future Africa Leaders Award 2015, Lagos Nigeria; Best Entrepreneur Award 2015, University of Zimbabwe Vice Chancellor’s Awards and Zimbabwean Designer of the Year Award 2014, Zimbabwe Fashion Week. There is no doubt we will see more from this gentleman in the years to come.
