Whilst there is a lot of talk about the new Soul Jah Love new single, ‘Zvinhu’, other kingpins in the dancehall genre are not stopping to watch ‘Makuruwane’ as Jah Love is known by fans, dominate the danza.
Award-winning dancehall artists, Winky D and Buffalo Souljah have collaborated on a song titled ’Rugare’.
Though it might not be as hard-hitting as as Jah Love’s track, owing mainly to the context in which the songs were birthed, the song is an emotionally packed nugget that will provoke thoughts amongst those who will listen to it.
Pretty much similar in terms of the mood, to Winky D’s ‘Panorwadza moyo’, this track reflects the struggles that many go though in search of a good life.
The singers outline just how many have left the country in search of greener pastures in foreign lands.
“Well Rugare is inspired with pretty much the struggle we are living with in this era. Every human being strives to be rich fast, hence people nowadays are getting involved in all sorts of rituals to get money fast,” said Buffalo Souljah.
“So Winky and I brainstormed over a lot of concepts and beats till we finally settled for this one as we believe it has a lot of social relevance,” added Buffalo Souljah.
