The festival has been in existence for nine years now and growing with each edition.

It was started by Elijah Zgambo a skateboarder and Kapembwa Siame a b-boy and is hosted yearly by a company called Street Culture Events and Arts.

“Jibilika and Street Culture share a lot of similarities in programming and goals. Both organisations are at the forefront of promoting urban youth culture as a way of recreation, social engagement and empowerment. Yearly, hundreds of young artists pass through their different projects and festivals,” read a statement from Jibilika Trust.

This will be the first time that the two will be collaborating and the organisers hope that this will go a long way in building relations between the two countries and foster cultural growth and exchange.

Three times Jibilika Festival champions Flip Floppers have been based in Zambia for three years where they have become a household name, performing for different events, artists and activations.
