Tomorrow night at 6:30 pm, at The Zimbabwe German Society, Takura Zhangazha will moderate the official launch of ‘The Write Affair Project’. This project will delve into an important topic, “The State of Writing in Zimbabwe”.
‘The project is six-months long and will include workshops and dialogues exploring local writing affairs and publishing. The programme is aimed at promoting the publishing industry by confronting and aiming to resolve the issues that writers in Zimbabwe face.
In addition to an opening discussion, the event will feature artists, specifically Mannex of Transit Crew who will perform an acoustic set, Savage and Police State Poet (PSP) who will treat attendees to poetry performances.
The panel consists of Chirikure Chirikure (Author and Poet), Robert Mukondiwa (Author), Stephanie Mapfunde (Editor of #Enthuse), Njabulo Mbono (Weaver Press Publishers), Percy Zvomuya (Author and Journalist) and Virginia Phiri (Author).
The discussion will be a starting point upon which some elements of the project will be based. The event is open to the public, and it is free.
