“It feels amazing to be one of the lucky 13! I really didn’t expect the news,” said Karen. “I started working at a local production company where I fell in love with presenting. Since then, I have continued to try to improve myself.”

“I believe I have what it takes to be TLC’s Next Great Presenter because I am passionate about presenting.

“While I started behind the camera, I ended up in front of the camera where I developed a love and appreciation for presenting.

“In addition to my presenting skills, I also have a strong understanding of producing, script writing and editing,” she added.

Karen, along with 12 other contestants from all over Africa, is now headed to Cape Town for the final boot camp where they will be grilled by a team of expert judges.

Amongst those judging the top 13 acts will be a star-studded line-up of expert judges which includes; radio and TV personality, Thando Thabethe; Head of Content at Multichoice, Aletta Alberts; editor of ZAlebs.com, Zee Dladla; celebrity publicist and communications strategist, Jarred Doyle, and VP of Channels for Discovery Networks CEEMEA, Lee Hobbs. This panel will choose the top three finalists.

Thereafter, it will be up to the TLC audience to decide who should be crowned the winner and travel to London to film a brand new series, ‘TLC’s Most Extreme’ coming to TLC Entertainment (DStv 135) in 2017.

The winner will also feature in a special once-off documentary and win a luxury holiday for two courtesy of Sun International.
