Though the mega album launch concert for his 10th studio album, ‘Hokoyo’ was cancelled due to the Covid19 induced national lockdown, there is still something for Jah Prayzah to smile about.

The multi award-winning star had shot a number of videos for songs on the album and that idea has worked to his favour.

One of the videos, ‘Mukwasha’ managed to get a million hits on YouTube on Wednesday June 3, in just under two weeks since it was released.

This becomes the quickest million hits that Jah has bagged since becoming a millionaire with his hit tune ‘Watora Mari’ back in 2016.

The video based on a comical theme depicts how a son-in-law is treated in a typical Zimbabwean family.

It is a purely hilarious offering.

The video sees Jah Prayzah going back to his old ways of doing things, being super dramatic and the fans love it.

Mukwasha managed to leapfrog another video, Hokoyo which Jah had released a month earlier to the million milestone.

Hokoyo had eclipsed all other local productions which had been released earlier in the year and was looking to reaching the million mark but Mukwasha was just too hot for it.

The Hokoyo video is now well over 900 000 hits in two months and by next week it will most likely be another million for Jah.

So what does this mean for JP and his team? Obviously more money.

With their YouTube account already monetized, as the hits continue to accumulate that means more $USD for the musician.

Another interesting dynamic that has come with the new videos dropped off his latest offering is the exponential growth of his subscriber base.

“We are excited about the numbers,” said his manager, Keen Mushapaidze.

“They have grown too fast over the past few days as a result of so much content we have uploaded on YouTube. This shows people have grown a keen interest in what we have been doing and also the recently released album has given us much desired numbers.”

As at Wednesday June 3, Jah had added 28 000 new subscribers in 21 days.

The cool Mushapaidze also highlighted he wished he could have staged their planned launch concert but is grateful for the positive vibe they are getting now.

Continued Mushapaidze, “Yes we lost out on what we could have pocketed from ticket sales from the physical album launch but the growth in online subscriber base is much more welcome as that not only means more money but also a guaranteed digital database that’s forever present for Jah.”
