Sinking Sands

The Ghanaian production Sinking Sands is a love story gone wrong and tackles issues that plague many couples still in this day and age. The couple in question is Jimah and Pabi who, until a domestic accident, have been in a loving marriage.

A Small Town Called Descent

On Wednesday the 5th of October the ZIFF Main Screen will be showing a movie entitled A Small Town Called Descent. The film revolves around the xenophobic attacks that took place in South Africa in 2008. Close to home, this story tells the tale of a Zimbabwean man who is found dead in a small town in South Africa.

Kinyarwanda

Kinyarwanda is set against the background of the harrowing genocide that took place in Rwanda in 1994.  Directed by Alrick Brown and written by Ishmael Ntihabose, the story follows the Mufti of Rwanda, a respected Muslim leader who issued a fatwa forbidding Muslims from participating in the killing of the Tutsi.

Spanish Embassy to Provide Free Screening at ZIFF

The Spanish Embassy will for the first time offer its cultural centre as a venue for screening free movies during the 14th edition of the Zimbabwean International Film Festival (ZIFF) which will be take place from September 30 to October 7, 2011 under the theme Finding Common Ground.

People Power Film to Open ZIFF 2011

In 2008, after the presidential elections in Ghana, the North African country, commonly known as the first born of Africa, was on the brink of chaos. A film by Jarreth Merz titled An African Election, that tells the story of that election and its aftermath, will open this year’s edition of the Zimbabwe International Film Festival(ZIFF).
