I was glued to the screen with a huge mile splashed on my face as I saw a fellow Zimbabwean representing us at the highest level, but little did I know my joy was going to be cut-short.

It was exciting to hear some random-comical-Shona lines for in the first 20 minutes of the movie Seal Team 8 Behind Enemy Lines  in which Leroy Gopal plays the role of antagonist general Tonga, a cold hearted dictator but so evasive no one seems to be able to get this man.

However, my joy ended as Gopal is killed by a lady when his head is chopped by a machete.

The movie which was shot in South Africa, is all about Seal Team 8 fighting their way deep into Africa’s Congo to decommission a secret uranium mine, and stop the enemy from smuggling weapons from the country.

Our very own Gopal plays an interesting role as the villain and I would have loved to see more of him in the 90 minute movie.

Though there is nothing much to make noise about the movie as it just seems to be one of those low budget films which the directors have not invested enough planning time into as it lacks the spark and energy that comes with current military action movies such as GI JOE.

Besides that, it’s a job well done to Gopal for representing us in the movie directed by Roel Reiné, and features the likes of Tom Sizemore, Lex Shrapnel, Anthony Oseyemi, amongst many others.
