Mutupo is a brand that was birthed in 2010 by a group of Zimbabweans who had a vision to promote African culture and people unapologetically.

“In this fast changing world we realised that for any individual to be relevant and grounded they had to have an identity and that is how we came up with the brand name,” one of the Mutupo master minds, Cowden Chikombah, told Zimbo Jam.

“We have vision of creating an aura and respect for our culture,” he added.

The brand targeted at the youth and the enlightened has a variety of t-shirts and insulators (jackets) branded with emblems of different totems that include the Tsoko, Moyo, Nyati and Humba amongst many others.

The prices for the t-shirts varies from $15 to $30 whilst that of insulators ranges from $45 to $60. These can be purchased  at G24 store in Msasa, Harare or online at www.mutupo.com.

Many local artists have fallen in love with the brand and the likes of Tehn Diamond, Take Fizzo and Prayersoul have been spotted donning Mutupo wear.

“Our desire is to restore heritage to the African people using the different clothing designs and styles,” added Chikombah.
