Nigerian musician, Patrick Nnaemeka Okorie, better known by his stage name Patoranking has said Zimbabwe’s Nutty O is the future of African music.

In an interview on Capitalk 100.4FM Radio earlier today, the reggae-dancehall artist sang praises for the upcoming musician.

When asked by a fan who his favourite Zimbabwean artists were, Patoranking said, “In Zimbabwe, I like Jah Prayzah, I like his music.  I like Winky D as well, but Nutty O is the future. He is not good. He is bad in a good way.”

Patoranking had to repeat himself, “I will say it again, Nutty O is the future of not just Zimbabwe but of Africa.”

It seems the Nigerian superstar has fallen in love with Zimdancehall and Nutty O as he sang a few lines off Nutty O’s song, ‘Boom Shelele,’ at a Press conference on Wednesday afternoon at the Harare International Conference Centre (HICC).

“I love the sound of Zimdancehall and the fact that it’s original and it’s African,” said Patoranking.

Patoranking is in Zimbabwe for a show later today at the HICC alongside  Jah Prayzah, Winky D, Sulumani Chimbetu, ExQ, Jah Signal, Nutty O and Ishan.

He also had an interview with Butterphly Phunk on PowerFM earlier in the week, where he spoke about his days as a soccer player, among other things. See that interview below.

Nutty O has for over three years now been constantly acclaimed as one of Zimbabwe’s most promising dancehall artists. He is most well known for his hits his songs Boom Shelele, Dakufara Nhasi.

Born Carrington Simbarashe Chiwadzwa, he grew up in Mbare and was initially signed to Kenako Muzik before he moved to Jah Prayzah’s Military Touch Movement.
