It has been six years since Tintin’s sex tape came out. The leaked sex tape led to her being suspended from ZiFM Stereo. Some people still remember the tape in question. It is evident that the effects of the sex tape are still fresh and raw.
Tintin, has since taken it upon her self to fight against such abuses against women. She has taken to Facebook to push for Zimbabwe’s “revenge porn” bill.

As an advocate of pushing for a ” revenge porn” bill in Zimbabwe , as a victim of ‘revenge porn ‘ myself and above all as a gender activist for #notoviolenceagainstwomen – I’m compelled to pass commentary on issues of leaked sex tapes /nudes that are brought to my attention or that individuals reach out to me for cousel advice or perhaps just comfort.
NB. Revenge porn is when someone leaks your private explicit sexual content without your consent
In the words of Meghan Markle as women, “‘We’re all wounded creatures that need to be healed” , it breaks my heart to see one woman openly and purposely violate the privacy and vulnerability of another woman by exposing their most intermit and private material or space. I would know all about being violated beyond reproach through the unsolicited leaking of a sex tape so when Im tagged or come across media stories on one well known confident beautiful woman exposing ( leaking) the sex tape/nudes of another confident beautiful woman I’m
gutted and the mind boggles. As women we live in a world that is already swarming with vultures, bring me downs and exploiters (majority of them being through the actions or patriarchal mindsets of men. I body say) We cannot be seen bringing our differences to the fore by ’emotionally public raping ‘ another woman in a bid to prove a point or set the record straight. That’s what men do to ” get back ” or ” belittle ” us so that our public image /reputation is destabilized , tarnished and trashed by things done in private that were sacred between those involved and that was never meant for public consumption . ( and I say ’emotional public rape ‘because if one has ever been through such an experience where your private explicit content is made public without consent EVERY TIME people view it, share it, comment on it, talk about it – it literally feels like you are being rapped over and over again emotionally because people have come into your space unannounced and uninvited and are slicing and dicing your body , mind , moral compass and self worth without it being solicited by you the owner of these emotions , the owner of the content. It’s devastating regardless who you are or how strong you are perceived to be – I speak from the horses mouth . Concurring with the words of Meghan Markle still ” I find when you strip all the layers away as people, especially as women, we can find deep connection with each other, and a shared understanding.
Our lives may be different, our backgrounds, our experiences, all varied, it is in these moments that we as women connect and our becomes abundantly clear that our hopes, fears, insecurities, the things that make us tick become abundantly clear . After all is said and done , WE ARE WOMEN and our sacred sexiness /sexualness/ sexuality is what will always be used against us by men to break us so we must guard that. My plea – WOMAN TO WONAN – as we approach #16days of activism against violence against women – let us not be found wanting. Let us settle our differences not like the exploitative approach of a mans mindset but with a heart of a woman who knows regardless our differences we MUST PROTECT EACH OTHER FIRST . Indeed we are not machines . We bleed and hurt when we get upset and we must express our anger and frustration and disappointment – it’s our prerogative BUT , we must find other means of venting or retaliating to each other , other than ” #revengeporn ” to each other .This is MY view- not picking sides just speaking my truth
