On Friday afternoon, December 7, 2012, Tuku made his first official public appearance after rumours of his death last week. Tuku was in a jovial mood when he met with fans at Edgars Lapf House in Bulawayo, ahead of his performance in the city that evening. He signed autographs, joked with fans and gave away 100 tickets to his show, courtesy of Edgars.
In the evening he proved he was still very alive at his City of Kings 60th Birthday Celebrations show, attended by over 2 000 people.
