Over the years we have been documenting the journey of one of Zimbabwe’s most dominant voices in gospel music. In the past five years he has grown in leaps and bounds that cannot be explained by any measure of human understanding – leaving many to say it is only by the grace of God.

After a three-year stint with multi award-winning group Joyous Celebration, Takesure Zamar Ncube’s has been steadily moving on an upward trajectory.

Now a solo act, Zamar is penetrating the South African market gradually leading him to be on the road nearly all weekends.

“Am always on the road travelling and ministering to God’s people I rarely have free weekends anymore,” said Zamar.

“I am really surprised by how South Africa has opened up to me. I’m honoured and thankful to God for enabling me to be frequently performing in almost all of South Africa’s provinces. I am also thankful to Zimbabweans for always praying and supporting me,” added the Mzansi based Zamar.

The multitalented musician is set to share the stage with internationally revered musician, VaShwan Mitchell this weekend, October 12.

“To be told I will be sharing the stage with VaShawn was a big surprise for me at this big concert in Durban. He is one of those international acts that have always been looking up to.”

The Crown Gospel award-winner said that he was even playing Mitchell’s music at his wedding.

“I was playing his song, ‘Turning Around for Me’ at my wedding. Little did I know that one day I will meet Vashawn and share a stage with him.”

But, the man who hails from Beitbridge is not sharing the stage with only one hotshot on the gospel music scene but two this summer.

“I will also be ministering alongside Micah Stampley in November, as I represent Zimbabwe at the Halal Afrika ‘The Moment’ live DVD recording.”

The project will be featuring acts from nearly all African countries.

“The DVD will feature renowned ministers such as Pastor Benjamin Dube, Ntokozo Mbambo, Takie Ndou and other guys from Kenya, Ghana, Nigeria amongst many other countries. It is a privilege for me to be chosen to represent Zimbabwe,” he explained.

Zamar is also working on a for part DVD targeting different African markets. The project set to be recorded this year and released next year will cater for Zulu, Shona, Sutu and Venda markets.
