“The most amazing thing about this award is to see people in businesses acknowledging people in the arts as entrepreneurs,” said an elated Cindy.

She narrated to Zimbo Jam how dramatic the whole scenario had been ahead of the awards ceremony.

“I received an email a day before the event and was really excited to note that I was amongst the top three finalists. Apparently the ZNCC team had been sending emails but I had not checked my email in a long time so I would have actually missed the invite had I not accidentally checked my mail.

“I was really blown away to realise that I had been nominated,” she narrated.

The ‘Dai’ singer added that this accolade separates her from her peers.

“This accolade really separates me from my peers in music because this isn’t the usual musical award we usually receive but this has the realisation of the commercial value that I have as an artist and really makes all the work I put in worth the struggle.”

She says that after winning she felt like a real pace setter.

“After winning I felt like a true pace setter, ever since that song (Setter Pace) was released my mind has changed. I now work, think and act like a pace setter. It is a prophetic song and I am seeing it manifest in my own life.”

On how this accolade impacts her future she said, “Going forward, this award will strengthen my hustle. I am one artist who has a team that is focused on corporate activations and we have worked with a number of big companies lately and am sure that they are very excited to see us winning.

“This award will give other corporates confidence to engage us because this award demonstrates we are business minded.”

This is not the first business accolade for Cindy as she won Young Businesswoman of The Year via the Zimbabwe Business Council in 2015.
