#BOOKCAFE Prudence Katomene proved why she is rated amongst the top female vocalists and performers in Zimbabwe when she staged an inimitable performance at the Book Café during the International Women’s Day Concert on Saturday March 4, 2014.

The sweet sounding jazz vocalist started of her set with some intimate tracks that gripped the attention of the whole auditorium, causing the audience to gaze in admiration as she displayed her vocal prowess.

The mother of four effortlessly scaled and scatted producing some scintillating melodies.

After the cool mellow start, Katomene then upped the tempo and belted out tracks that sent the crowd dancing the night away till the early hours of Sunday morning.

Not to go unmentioned is Rute Mbangwa who also gave revelers value for money with an energetic set that saw the crowd engaging in samba dances, museve and rhumba.

Her phenomenal bassist, Solo also contributed immensely to the diva’s top drawer performance with some crazy slaps and strums on the guitar.

Mbangwa also collaborated with Katomeni on the night and together, they did a rendition of popular yester year track ‘Rudo imoto’ where they were now directing the song to men as they sang saying, “Rudo imoto rinotokuchidzirwa vana baba imi, muati zvamaroora imi hamucha shaver imi….”
